# Honor – Kardena smartwatch loses connection

# Honor – Kardena smartwatch keeps loosing connection

Does your Kardena smartwatch keep disconnecting from your Honor smartphone?
This is often caused by power-saving or app management features preventing the app from staying active in the background.

## 1. Check Bluetooth

Make sure Bluetooth is switched on on your Honor smartphone.
Then check within the app whether the smartwatch is shown as connected.

## 2. Check app launch and background activity

Open your smartphone's settings and look for the options for:
* App launch
* Background activity
* Battery optimisation
* Power saving

Allow the app you’re using to remain active in the background.

> ℹ️ **Note:**
> The exact names of these settings may vary depending on your Honor model and the installed MagicOS version.

## 3. Check permissions

Check the app's permissions.
In particular, allow:

* Bluetooth / nearby devices
* Notifications
* Background activity
* location, if applicable

## 4. Enable notifications

Enable the notifications you want, both in your smartphone settings and within the app.

## 5. Restart your devices

Restart your smartphone and smartwatch, then open the app.

> ⚠️ **Important:**
> If the app is closed in the background by the operating system, the smartwatch may still appear as a connected Bluetooth device, while syncing and notifications no longer work reliably.
> 💡 **Tip:**
> If the smartwatch reconnects every time you manually open the app, check your background and power-saving settings first.
