Steps, heart rate or other health metrics appear inaccurate

Kardena smartwatches use various sensors to measure activity and health data.
The quality of these measurements depends, among other things, on how the smartwatch is worn.

Wearing the smartwatch correctly

For the most reliable measurements:

  • Wear the smartwatch about a finger's width above your wrist bone.
  • The strap should fit securely but not uncomfortably tight.
  • The sensor on the underside should be in full contact with the skin.
  • Keep the sensor surface clean.
  • Avoid unnecessary movements during a single measurement.

Heart rate and other optical measurements

Optical sensors detect changes through the skin. Movement, a loose fit or other external factors may affect the readings.

Keep your arm and hand as still as possible during a single measurement.

Step counting

The smartwatch recognises steps based on typical movement patterns.
As a result, certain arm movements may occasionally be interpreted as steps. Conversely, very slow or unusual movements may not always be fully detected.

ℹ️ Note:
Differences between the smartwatch, smartphone and other fitness trackers are normal, as the devices may use different sensors and calculation methods.
⚠️ Health notice:
A Kardena smartwatch is not a substitute for a medical diagnostic device. Health and fitness readings are for personal information only and do not replace professional medical measurement, diagnosis or treatment.
